En 2002, 26 centres et instituts culturels étrangers basés à Paris décident, au-delà des accords-cadres bilatéraux, de créer un réseau unique au monde : le FICEP (Forum des Instituts Culturels Etrangers à Paris).

Espace de réflexion multilatéral sur la culture, son statut, ses conditions d’épanouissement dans un contexte de mondialisation, cette initiative tend à promouvoir et valoriser la diversité culturelle et linguistique, dans un monde où la culture connaît une crise globale.

18 ans plus tard les mêmes questions se posent et la crise pandémique de 2020, qui stoppa nette une partie du monde, a fragilisé encore plus un secteur déjà en difficulté.

Quel avenir pour la culture dans un monde incertain ?

Au travers de 3 tables rondes, le FICEP souhaite faire un état des lieux de la situation actuelle au niveau international, et mettre en avant les nombreuses initiatives qui ont pu émerger ces derniers mois.

Les tables rondes se dérouleront en direct par la plateforme Zoom et seront en anglais.

In 2002, 26 international cultural centres in Paris came together, beyond the framework of bilateral agreements, to create a unique network: FICEP (Forum des instituts culturels étrangers à Paris or Forum of Foreign Cultural Institutes in Paris).

FICEP is an arena for multilateral reflection on culture and the conditions needed for it to thrive in a globalized context. Since its inception, this initiative has aimed to promote and enhance cultural and linguistic diversity in a world where culture has had to contend with global crises.

18 years later, the need to address pressing questions and issues is just as vital given the pandemic crisis of 2020 which led to much of the world coming to a halt and further weakening of an already troubled sector.

What future for culture in an uncertain world?

FICEP has organised 3 international round tables with the intention of taking stock of the current situation across the world as well as highlighting the many initiatives that have emerged in recent months.
