People have been drawn to stories for as long as there has been language; sharing stories can foster connection, understanding, and healing. Family building can be complicated, messy, and sometimes heartbreaking. But those who are faced with fertility and family building struggles do not always have the opportunity to share their stories.
The act of telling your journey without interruption, whether or not you have reached your destination, can help reclaim and reframe your story. Sharing your struggle amongst peers, who understand the intricacies of family building challenges, can be a cathartic and powerful experience.
RNE is excited to host a Family Building Open Mic Night to provide a welcoming, confidential space for our community to come together and bear witness to each other’s stories. This free, virtual event will be facilitated by a RNE volunteer. The number of participants will be capped at 6 to allow each person a full, uninterrupted 10 minutes to share their story followed by a few minutes for Q and A. This event is open to all, regardless of where you are in your journey.
*Please note these events are never recorded to protect participant privacy; all those who register should plan on attending live.
