CJHS Dance Tryout Form

We will be having dance tryouts in person this year. They will be from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Chiddix gym on ONE day-whichever of the three you choose. March 1, 4 and 5 are the choices you can pick. There is also an option to let me know if none of the dates work for you.

This is the only requirement before tryouts-no teacher recommendations are needed.

Tryouts will consist of technique demonstrations and a :30 second dance that you will learn and perform at the end of the tryout.

For the foreseeable future, the CJHS dance team will not be performing at basketball games. Our performances will consist of possible Google Meetings (with a shareable link) and videos posted to YouTube that you can view and share with friends and family.

We will have practices twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:30. If you have remote learning that day (or at all), you can still come to practice!

Tentatively, the season will run from the beginning of March to mid-May (no practice during spring break).

If you make the team, the fee for dance is $7 to pay for matching athletic masks. We will also have other optional opportunities for purchasing spirit wear/dance bags. **You will also need to purchase dance shoes if you make the team (either by providing me with the money, or buying them yourself) if you don't own them.  The code word is dancer. Dance shoes are about $40. For tryouts, please wear dance shoes. If you don't own them, you can absolutely wear socks. If you make the team but are unable to pay for the shoes/mask, please let me know.
