Volunteer Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Refugee Development Center. Below, you can find more information about volunteering. If you have any outstanding questions, please email RDC's Volunteer Coordinator Savanna at volunteer@rdclansing.org.

After completion, Savanna will reach out regarding the next steps for volunteering. Please give 1-2 business days for a response. Additionally, you can email volunteer@rdclansing.org to express interest.

Volunteering Terms:

  • In general, we typically ask for volunteers to join us for two hours a week for one semester at a time.
  • Our Spring 2024 semester runs from January 16th to May 16th (MSU/College Students have the option to end April 19th. If this applies to you, please let me know).
  • We usually have opportunities on weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Volunteers help in our English classes, after-school tutoring, and childcare programs for newcomers. They also serve as online conversation partners for our adult students.
  • Volunteers are required to be at least 18 years old, have completed high school or a GED equivalent, and complete background checks.
