Franklin County Pride 2019 Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 3rd Annual Franklin County Pride Parade, Rally & Festival-taking place on Saturday, June 15th, 2019 in Greenfield, MA.
--The Parade starts at Greenfield Middle School (195 Federal Street) at 12pm, ending at Energy Park (50 Miles St, Greenfield);
--The Rally and Festival will take place at Energy Park from 1pm to 2:30pm (pre-show starting at 12:30pm).

We are seeking volunteers to help with a few tasks in the days ahead of the event, as well as LOTS of volunteer options day of ranging from set up, to safety marshal, to "green room," to clean up crew.

This event can't happen without the support and commitment of a mighty team of volunteers! Thanks so much for being willing to help out!

DEADLINE EXTENDED: SUNDAY, JUNE 9TH

PROCESS:
1) You complete this application. Yay! (Applying with a group/sweetie/friend? Please complete one application per person. There is a place to note if you want to be stationed with them.)
2) We will be in touch within 4 days to confirm receipt of application and ask any follow up questions.
3) You attend a 45 min volunteer orientation (in person or online, see dates below).
4) You arrive on time and do what you signed up to do and enjoy the day of FC Pride knowing you helped to make it happen! (You'll also receive your choice of FC Pride Swag - 2019 t-shirt, water bottle, or ceramic mug as a token of our appreciation, along with a volunteer shirt to wear day of.)

Hang fliers in the days/weeks ahead of the event.

Rally set up crew-Shift 1 (8-10am): Set up pop tents, hang signs, fill water jugs, carry supplies. Many hands make light work. You'll be free to go march in or watch the parade.

***Rally set up crew-Shift 3 (11am-1pm): Set up pop tents, hang signs, fill water jugs, carry supplies. Many hands make light work. You will be at the rally site during the parade.

Parking Marshal Shift 1 (9am-11am): Guard the parking lot, ensure easy access for vendors and folks with limited mobility, while respectfully leading other pride goers to other town parking. You'll be free to march in or watch the parade!

Parking Marshal Shift 2 (11am-1pm): Guard the parking lot, ensure easy access for vendors and folks with limited mobility, while respectfully leading other pride goers to other town parking. You will be at the rally site as it get's going and done your duties in time for the festivities. You won't be able to march in the parade, but will have front row seats for watching marchers enter the park.

***Parking Marshal Shift 3 (1-3pm): Guard the parking lot, ensure easy access for vendors and folks with limited mobility, while respectfully leading other pride goers to other town parking. You'll be free to march in or watch the parade!

Parade Marshall (10:30am-12:30pm): Help groups and floats line up, make sure everyone has what they need, march with the parade helping make sure everyone is safe and going where they need to go. All while spreading rainbow cheer! You'll march with the parade to Energy Park for the festivities.

Green room/stage (11am-3pm): Its like a backstage pass! Set up food, make sure performers have what they need, help with stage change overs, hang with the musicians. You'll be able to take breaks throughout the day.

Bucket Brigade (11am-1pm): March in the parade and walk around the rally inviting prideful folks to donate to the event (ie. put a buck in the bucket)

FC Pride Tent-Shift 1 (11:30am-1:30pm): Set up the pride tent, sell water bottles, mugs and t-shirts. You'll be at the rally site during the parade.

FC Pride Tent-Shift 2 (1:30-3:30pm): Sell water bottles, mugs and t-shirts. Pack up the pride tent after the event. You'll be free to march in or watch the parade.

Kid Zone (Set up at 11am, Run it from 1-3pm): Help supervise kids activities at the rally. You'll be free to march in or watch the parade.

Compost team (1-3:30pm): Monitor the compost stations, give some instructions on trash vs. compost. Change bags as needed. You'll be free to march in or watch the parade, and will be able to mozy around the rally all afternoon while helping out.

Clean up crew (2:30-4:30pm): Help us leave the park even cleaner than we found it! Packing up supplies, loading up trucks, folding tables, etc. Many hands make light work! We'll be done in time for plenty of post pride activities!

Volunteer orientations will be 45 minutes long, and available in both in-person and online formats. In person sessions will be in Greenfield. (Location details and accessibility notes below.)

Tuesday 5/28 @ 9am, in person. Location not yet confirmed. Likely option is up a set of stairs.

Tuesday 6/4 @ 12 noon, online video chat (join from computer, tablet, or smartphone).

Wednesday 6/5 @ 7pm, in person. At Co-Op Meeting Space, 170 Main St. Wheelchair accessible.

Wednesday 6/12 @ 12 noon, online video chat (join from computer, tablet, or smartphone).

Help! I can't make any of these, but really want to volunteer. (We will figure out another time!)
