Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Staunton Elementary. We are looking forward to our volunteers building relationships with our students and staff members! Please see the details of our volunteer opportunities below.
Recess Aides: These volunteers are needed from 11:00-12:30 for our lunch recesses. We'd love volunteers who can interact with our students, play recess games, and encourage positive friendships.
Lunch Aides: These volunteers are needed from 10:30-12:15 during our lunch times. In this role, you would be interacting with our students as they eat, helping to open lunch items for younger students, and encouraging positive relationships.
Guest Readers: These volunteers would schedule dates and times (30 minute increments) to come read with individual or small groups of students. You would be helping to foster a love of reading and improve the reading skills of our elementary students.
Mentors for Students: We are looking for volunteers to mentor individual students at the frequency of approximately one time per week for 30 minutes. Volunteers would let us know their weekly availability, and we would pair you with a student in need of a mentor. During your time with this student, you could play a game, share lunch with them, read with them, help with school work, etc.

If you are NOT already an approved volunteer, you will need to apply for your background check. After your background check comes back, administration will reach out to you in order to schedule volunteer training, which is required before you can be on campus.
