UHS Alert Level 3 Form
Kia ora whānau,
My apologies for a weekend email, but we need to get final numbers of children who will be attending school at level 3 by Monday morning in order for us to ensure the detailed planning for level 3 is finalised by Tuesday evening, ready for a start on Wednesday morning. In the form we sent out last week asking about level 3 school, over half of the families were unsure if they would need to send their children along to school (were waiting for information from their places of work). We are asking that ALL FAMILIES WHO NEED THEIR CHILD TO ATTEND SCHOOL AT LEVEL 3 please to fill out this form by 12pm (lunchtime) Monday 30th August so we can confirm numbers and get all the information required.

Please note the school remains closed at level 3 but is able to supervise children whose parents are required to work or have no other care options. Distance learning will continue for all other children.

Level Three School Conditions - based on current info from MoE and MoH - this information is being updated regularly and may change
Under Alert Level 3 Upper Hutt School will be following the Ministry guidelines and advice to ensure the safety of all children and staff attending school:
- Class bubbles will be limited to twenty children
- Class bubbles will be mixed age groups
- Siblings will be in the same class bubble
- Each class bubble will not be able to mix with other class bubbles
- Children will remain in the same room and at the same chair/ desk (1m away from others)
- The school playgrounds will be closed
- Class bubbles will have different break times to allow for social distancing
- Before and after school care will not be available at Level 3
- Children at school will have an adapted learning programme (including some PRIDE Online work). It is not expected that children attending school through the day then go home and do distance PRIDE Online work)
- Any children that are unwell must not attend school
- If you have a school device at home and are returning to school, please bring this back to school with you (and the cord)
- There will be detailed health and safety guidelines/ practices around health, hygiene and physical distancing at school (e.g. hand washing every hour)
- We ask that children arrive at school between 8:45am and 9.00am
- We ask that parents/ caregivers do not enter the school grounds and drop off your child at the Brown Street Gate please
- Depending on the number of children, there may be a 'staggered home time' from 2:30pm. We ask that parents stay in their car on Brown St and teachers will let children leave from the gate when they see you

All of the above decisions have been made on the advice and guidelines from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. This information is continually being updated so may change as new information and guidelines comes in. We want to do everything we can to keep your children and the staff safe and healthy.

Nga mihi,

Jo Grant
