SpExoDisks: Spectroscopy of Exoplanet-forming Disks
SpExoDisks is a new initiative in the field of star and planet formation: a multi-observatory database of science-ready spectra tracing the inner regions of protoplanetary disks. The database currently includes spectra from 5 infrared spectrographs (VLT-CRIRES, IRTF-iSHELL, Keck-NIRSPEC, VLT-VISIR, Spitzer-IRS), and it has been built for flexibility and growth to be ready to include data from other spectrographs (including JWST-MIRI). We believe in the long-term value of these datasets and in the power of synergies between multiple disk tracers. Our goals are 1) data linking and accessibility, 2) sharing tools, knowledge and expertise, and 3) supporting community efforts in observations and modeling of planet-forming disks at multiple wavelengths.

A first version of the database is now accessible at www.spexodisks.com. The web interface currently supports the interactive exploration and visualization of all the spectra (currently ~900), in addition to linking each star (currently ~400) to Simbad and ESA Sky. Our team is still actively developing the interface to increase data access, improve the user experience, and add interactive tools.

We are looking for feedback from current and future users as we prepare to launch an upgraded version of SpExoDisks. We will inform our ongoing development and prioritize future updates with your suggestions, so that SpExoDisks is built with the community and for the community.
