Bancroft PTO - CDD Feedback
The Minneapolis Public Schools are collecting feedback from families on several models to change our school district. This will change the boundaries of who can attend Bancroft, as well as impact Bancroft’s IB status among other things. If you haven't already done so, please check out MPS infromation on the CDD here https://mpls.k12.mn.us/cdd 

The proposal aims to reduce costs to transportation to help meet budget shortfall for the 2021/2022 school year, better integrate and reduce racially identifiable schools, centralize magnet programs in the center of the city, and overall improve academic outcomes.

The Bancroft PTO is collecting feedback from families to share back with the district and our School Board Members.

Please share your thoughts and ideas so that the PTO can bring your voice to MPS as they contemplate this decision. Responses will be collected and shared (separately, but along with our Bancroft Family Discussion Report https://bit.ly/2TCGUBU ) with school board members at our March 23rd PTO meeting:

How will the new boundaries impact your family? Are you in the new zone?
Bancroft might lose its IB magnet school status and become a community school. Should the school board allow Bancroft to continue its IB programming and maintain its IB status?
Does this plan reflect the goals you have for your children’s education? What worries you? What gives you hope? What’s missing?
Should the district change their plans? How? What should any plan for change consider?
What does the district need to do to ensure all families are heard?
We hope to center and elevate voices and feedback of families who are black, indigenous, immigrants, students of color, LGBTQ +, or families qualifying for free or reduced lunch.
