A medical research organization seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and highly motivated Research Medical Assistant based in Chikhwawa. She/he will provide outpatient services for participants recruited into the study in Chikhwawa. The appointment is on a fixed-term basis for two years, which may be renewed depending on performance and availability of funds.  

Job Summary: To undertake the day-to-day clinical management study participants, including screening, recruitment, outpatient care and maintaining records according to the procedures and principles of Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection, clinical protocols and all relevant national guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties shall include but not limited to, the following:
Managerial
1. To provide weekly update reports on screening, recruitment and outpatient care to the Study Coordinator
2. To conduct regular clinic meetings to evaluate and plan clinic activities.
3. To participate and contribute in study team meetings on a regular basis.
Clinical
1. To be responsible for outpatient care of all patients/clients in the study from recruitment to follow-up.
2. To perform history taking, physical examination and treatment prescription as per study protocol and Ministry of Health Guidelines.
3. To identify critical cases and refer to the Study Physician appropriately.
4. To provide preliminary assessment of adverse events/side effects experienced by patient/client.
5. To promptly report identified AEs/SEs at the clinic to Study Physician.
6. To assist Government Clinicians during daily work in A&E/out-patient department as required.
7. Any other duties assigned by the Study Coordinator/ Principal Investigator as deemed necessary.

Qualifications
1. Minimum must be a Certificate in Clinical Medicine with at least two years of clinical research experience.
2. Valid and up-to-date registration with the Medical Council of Malawi.
