The deposit is half of your expected registration fee. Registration is $70 per participant (including adults). By depositing half this expected amount, there allows some wiggle room for additions and subtractions from your group. For example, if you have 15 expected particiapants (say, 10 students & 5 adults) your full registration fee would be $1,050. Your deposit would be $525. If, between sending your deposit check and the week leading up to the weekend, you have 5 participants unable to join, you would only owe a new total of $700 (10x$70). Having already sent in $525 to hold your slots, you would only owe $175 before attending the weekend with the 10 participants.

Because we are capping the participant numbers to 100 persession, the deposit holds your slots and gives us a sense of how many slots are left available for other groups.
