Observer Registration: 5th Annual NJSMA Elementary Choral Celebration (2020)

The NJSMA 5th ANNUAL ELEMENTARY CHORAL CELEBRATION will be held at the Presbyterian Church in Morristown. (57 East Park Place, Morristown) Dr. Matthew Webb, visiting Assistant Professor of Choral and Vocal studies at Drew University and Director of Music at Presbyterian Church in Morristown, and Deborah MEllo, Artistic Director of the Sussex County Youth Chorus will serve as the clinicians.

OBSERVERS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AND WILL RECEIVE A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATE.
Two sessions are planned: Morning (9:30-11:30am) and Afternoon (12:30-2:30pm)
Elementary choirs will have an opportunity to participate in a non-competitive event and receive feedback from master clinicians. Choirs will perform individually, listen to other treble choirs, and unite in song at the conclusion of the event. Our goals are to further develop children’s musicianship skills, nurture a deeper appreciation of the choral art through performing, listening and communal singing, and foster a life-long love of choral singing. In addition, participating choral directors will have the opportunity to grow professionally and artistically by receiving comments and feedback from master clinicians.)
OBSERVER INFORMATION:
*There are parking garages in Morristown, NJ. Street/church parking is limited.
*There are restaurants in walking distance from the church if you plan to observe both morning and afternoon sessions and eat lunch between sessions.
*Designated seating for observers will be provided.

11:15-11:30am- Combined Choirs, Presentation of Participation Certificates.
AFTERNOON SESSION:
12:15-12:40 pm- Arrival for 3 participating choirs
12:45-12:55 pm-Group Warm-ups with Master Clinician
1:00-1:20pm- Choir 1
1:25-1:45 pm-Choir 2
1:50-2:10 pm –Choir 3
