In celebration of poetry month, we gather to reflect on San José State College alumna Faricita Hall Wyatt’s life without limits. A poet, artist, civil servant, educator, and computer programmer, Hall Wyatt (‘35 Speech) claimed space for herself in any endeavor that sparked her imagination.
Explore an exhibit of historic documents from SJSU’s own Special Collections & Archives and the African American Museum and Library at Oakland. Enjoy food, community, and live poetry performances by Aideed Medina, Azariah Cole-Shephard (‘22 Electrical Engineering, Former Oakland Youth Poet Laureate), students in Communication Studies, and participants in the “Breaking Static” poetry workshops.
