The Squamish Food Policy Council (SFPC) is exploring developing a virtual Farm Hub for the Sea to Sky region. A Farm Hub is a network of food and farm infrastructure within a region to strengthen the area’s local food economy. It involves the collaboration of farmers, organizations, and consumers to aggregate and distribute resources to make food available in a given area. We encourage you to read the attached information in the invite to learn more.
The Farm Hub, from Squamish to Lillooet, would be guided by the Good Food Program values to strengthen the region’s food equity and access while increasing sales for farmers. The Sea to Sky Farm Hub would be an online service that works with farmers and food processors to deliver fresh and healthy food to consumers including: residents, restaurants, charities, schools, etc.; consumers can order on a weekly basis or set up recurring orders.
We are interested in hearing your perspectives and feedback before we move forward in the next planning phase of this project. The SFPC wants to learn from food purchasers to gather information about their interest in participating in regional Farm Hub, and to understand their needs and interests.
Survey participants will be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift certificate to a local restaurant of their choice! We thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out this survey and we look forward to receiving your input. Feel free to contact us anytime.
