Orienteering
Australia is seeking expressions of interest for individuals interested in
gaining competition (previously level 2) or performance (previously level 3)
orienteering coach accreditation.
As outlined in the new coaching framework
published in early 2022, the coaching accreditation scheme is no longer linear
in nature. The only pre-requisite for competition and performance orienteering
coach accreditation is completion of the orienteering instructor accreditation.
Experienced orienteers may be able to apply for recognition of prior learning
for orienteering instructor, and hence move straight into the competition or
performance orienteering coach course. More information about the OA coaching
framework can be found here.
Given some
common material in both courses, the first competition and performance coach
courses will be run concurrently in early 2023. A blended approach will be
utilised, with both online and face to face components. The courses will commence in mid to late February.
