Before you arrive...
We recommend taking a DNA test 6-8 weeks prior to the Discover Your Roots seminar, so that you'll have your test results back when you attend the conference. Because the most successful connections for genealogical searches come with Ancestry DNA, that is the test that we specifically recommend, but other credible services include 23andMe, My Heritage, or another service. Please note this is recommended as it will help you make genealogical connections, but NOT required for attendance.

You are encouraged to bring a personal tablet or laptop, as well as a pre-filled pedigree chart (download here) and a family group sheet (download here).
