Gabriela Lopez is a young Latina with 10-plus years of education experience and a master's in education from UCLA. She also served as a school board president. She is now a Ph.D.candidate at Stanford University in the race, inequality, and language in education (RILE) program.

Michael W. Kirst is the longest-serving president of the California state board of education, with his second and final term from 2011 to 2019. Dr. Kirst has authored ten books, including The Political Dynamics of American Education (2009).

Allyssa Victory is a trailblazing civil rights attorney who recently ran for Oakland mayor. She has expertise in labor and employment and criminal justice law and is elected to her workplace bargaining committee.
