Bats Count! Bat Cam Emergence Count

The White Memorial Conservation Center’s Green Barn is an important Big Brown Bat colony because of its monitoring legacy. This colony has been monitored for over 20 years and we have learned a great deal. Your count will contribute to this long-term monitoring project. 

Please view the video stream and count the bats as they leave the barn. Please use Camera 1-Ext. to count the bats emerge from the barn. Keep track of the time when you started viewing the stream and when you finish. Use the clock on the camera screen, which is set to standard time. Remember to also count the number of bats entering the barn. Don't be surprised if you count a different number of bats every night.  Bat colonies are very dynamic from one night to the next!
