We are working on updating our APT board committees for the 2023-2024 School Year and would like your feedback! Whether you are a current APT Exec Board member or would like to join, please fill out the information below and someone will be in touch with you. Thank you!

Please check any boxes for each role you'd be willing to help with. The APT will reach out to confirm your choices with available openings and answer any questions you may have about the role(s). There is a very brief description of each committee below, but full job descriptions are available. There are at least 2 people on each committee.

Executive Committee: Secretary

Back to School Party Coordinators: Organize back-to-school party at beginning of Sept. for the entire school to be held on the back playground. Secure DJ, pizza, ice cream truck etc. and organize volunteers needed.

Monster Bash/Winter Party Coordinators: Plan and coordinate Oct. Monster Bash and Feb. Winter Party for the school.

Community Service: Work with District Executive APT coordinator on Fall and Spring H.U.G.S. Food drive. Organize communication/sandwich boards; collection bins; delivering food to sorting drop off and helping sort food.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL): Help room parents coordinate SPARK Readers throughout the year & work on Valentine's Day Spread The Love Campaign

Exploration Day: Brainstorm and reach out to parent and community members for event presenters. Manage communication with presenters about their session and the event logistics. Schedule parent volunteers and attend event.

Yearbook: Take photos throughout the year of school activities and help layout the school yearbook in the Spring

Wellness/Field Day Committee: Help Wellness teachers organize parent volunteers & popsicles for Field Day in June

Food Service: Create nutrition bulletin boards in the lunch line hallway throughout the year, liaise with district Food Service (also known as Wellness) APT coordinator to plan and execute March Nutrition month samplings at Sheridan.

Fall Back to School Luncheon: Organize and set up food for the Fall Back-To-School Luncheon for Sheridan School’s staff

Visiting Author / Fine Arts / Visiting Scientists: Act as contact between District Executive APT coordinators and school, attend assemblies to help with any needs that arise.

Kindergarten Coordinator: Host summer playdates at Sheridan for incoming K students, help place yard signs in August, be present at other incoming Kindergarten activities

Meals for Teachers/Staff Coordinators: Coordinate & set up staff dinners in Oct & March & any needs throughout the year

New Family Coordinator: Organize the new family coffee & tour & help place yard signs in August. Reach out to new families throughout the year to welcome them and link them to a "buddy family"

Old/New Board APT Brunch/Luncheon: Host or help plan May luncheon for new/old APT

Spiritwear Coordinator: Work with Kiddles and Exec APT for design, ordering of shark wear at start of school year

Holiday Cookie Boxes: Organize volunteers and pack holiday cookie boxes for staff approx. the second week in December

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week (1st full week of May 2024): Organize the recognition activities for staff. Planning begins end of Mar - May

Room Parent Coordinator: In Aug/Sept reach out to interested parents to fill each classroom & be a resource to room parents, send reminders or other communication throughout the year. See next question below for interest in classroom Room Parent

Preschool/EC Liaison: For parent with a child currently in EC. Help recruit room parents and relay relevant APT communication to EC classes

New/anticipated opening - Breakfast/Donut with Grown Up Coordinators: Help coordinate classes for breakfast event throughout the year

School supply Coordinators: In Spring confirm that class supply lists are accurate; work with Exec APT on August delivery & unpacking.
