Becoming a Confirmation Core member is a response to the baptismal call to serve. Core members, volunteers who are at least a junior in High School (approx. 16 yrs old - 116 years old), play an important role in the Confirmation program and the lives of the 7th and 8th graders the program serves.
The Core member’s approach to ministry should be rooted in service, commitment, and dedication to the Church and the youth of the parish. Core members are role models to the teens, and therefore must “live and act in a manner worthy of the call you have received” (Eph. 4:1).
Core team members should possess the following qualities:
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ
- Desire to bring other teens closer to Christ
- A love for the Catholic Church
- Regular participation in Sunday Mass
- A personal prayer life
- Frequents the Sacrament of Reconciliation
- And openness to using all the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Core members receive all the training necessary to excel in leading small groups, public speaking, and planning.
It’s a wonderful way to find community at our parish!
