OUR MISSION: GLSEN Massachusetts seeks to develop school climates where difference is valued for the positive contribution it makes in creating more vibrant and diverse communities. We value individuals of all sexual and gender identities/expressions and ages, and are committed to seeing this vision realized in K-12 schools.

***** GLSEN MA recognizes that heterosexism, homophobia, biphobia and transphobia are interconnected with racism and other forms of oppression — a relationship that serves to sustain, enforce and amplify the individual and collective effects of these forces, and challenges efforts to address any one of them. In response, GLSEN Massachusetts actively works to understand and address how these forces intersect and operate to undermine a safe and healthy climate in K-12 schools and within our own organization. GLSEN Massachusetts intentionally centers our efforts around identities that are often marginalized within many “mainstream” LGBTQIA+ communities. Issues related to supporting LGBTQIA+ people of Color, Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming people, and LGBTQIA+ people of varying (Dis)Abilities are on the forefront of our work.
