Taylor Fork Nature Exploration Series                              Fall 2022 Event Signups
All events are located at Taylor Fork Ecological Area (1 Hancock Taylor Lane, Richmond, KY 40475) unless otherwise stated. This is a fun, FREE family event series with the purpose of inspiring individuals of all ages to love nature and learn more about the great outdoors. NOTE: Taylor Fork has very limited wheelchair accessibility.

*Spider & Moth Prowl | Sat, Sept 10th @ 6:30pm-8:30pm -  Join us as we hang out with our insect and arachnid friends. Improve your identification skills! We will have stations designed to attract them in for a closer look!

*Monarch Tagging | Sat, Sept  24th @ 10am-12pm -  Help capture and tag monarchs migrating through Kentucky on their way to Mexico. Tagging monarchs is important in tracking their migration patterns and monitoring their populations. Butterfly nets will be provided or bring your own!

*Bird Banding Bonanza | Sat, Oct 22nd @ 9am-11am -   Bird banding is an important practice in investigating the life history and migration of birds. Join us as we catch, tag, and then release our feathered friends!

*Animal Scat & Tracks | Sat, Nov 5th @ 10am-12pmLearn to identify and interpret the tracks, scat, and signs left behind by birds and animals!

*Kentucky Geology | Sat, Nov 19th @ 10am-12pm : Explore Kentucky's fascinating local geology including sink holes and fossils!
