One thing is clear the world over, people need
more local food production - food grown in
healthy soil, close to
where people live and accessible to
every budget, well
Nottinghamshire Farmstart could be the very answer to the need for more locally produced food on local shelves. This survey will help us to understand whether people across the county are buying local, if so, what, when, why and how much, and if not what are their barriers.
The results will be used for making a case for investment in local food production and for Nottinghamshire to be the first UK county to offer a county-wide Farmstart training programme for people to make a rewarding livelihood as a food producer. These livelihoods are only possible with the skills, and the people to sell to.
Thank you so much for your involvement. Please share this with friends, family and colleagues and use it to spark a few conversations.

Thanks and help for this survey goes to Rachel Helbig, who originally conducted a consumer survey about local food at the University of Leeds. Rachel generously permitted us to reproduce some of her survey questions for our purposes.
