Please complete & submit the form below to be added to the approved participation list. Applications must be received no later than the 5th of the month prior to your requested performance date. EXPECTATIONS FOR STREET BUSKERS DURING FIRST FRIDAY EVENTS 1. Buskers are asked to complete an application form to be considered to play on the streets in Fredericksburg during FXBG First Friday 2023. Application (below) MUST include the type of music played, name/group name, number of people in the group, contact information, specific needs for the performance, and the months you are available to perform. 2. Applicants must submit their application by the 5th of each month for consideration for the following months. 3. Once all allotted slots are filled, a schedule will be developed for each month’s First Friday; Street Buskers will receive notification of the specific location and time for their performance. 4. Buskers are expected to remain in their assigned area throughout their specified performance time. 5. In order to provide a showcase for numerous area musicians, Buskers will be rotated so that no one Busker performs every month unless no one else has offered to play for that month and/or only if unforeseen circumstances arise requiring a repeat performance. Buskers will be limited to 3 months unless additional slots need to be filled to ensure as many musicians can be included as possible – this will be communicated to you. 6. No more than 3 people are allowed to participate in one act to ensure adequate space. 7. Buskers are expected to bring all their own equipment, including extension cords (if needed) and are responsible for equipment safety during the performance. Fredericksburg Main Street assumes no liability for any damage or loss of equipment. 8. While setting up for their performance and while performing, Buskers must remember that sidewalks must be passable at all times to walkers and to those in wheelchairs. 9. You will be paid $100 for your two-hour performance. Tips can be accepted during your performance. 10. Drinking alcoholic beverages while performing is prohibited. Please remember that this is a family- oriented event each month; therefore, choose your musical set and your behavior with those standards in mind.
