EQUAL are delighted to be partnering with civil liberties organisation, Liberty, to deliver a series of expert-led Legal Action workshops.
Starting in March 2021, these 4-day workshops will equip organisations working with BAME, Muslim and Gypsy, Roma & Traveller communities affected by issues in the Criminal Justice System with legal tools needed to achieve systemic change.
See Amnesty's guide on the power of legal action:
https://www.amnesty.org/en/strategic-litigation/Whilst Phase 1 of the workshops will provide attendees with an introduction to Legal Action, Phase 2 (further details to be announced) will involve applying the learning from Phase 1 practically. On completion of workshops, attendees will be invited to form part of a working group.
This project has been funded by AB Charitable Trust and the Baring Foundation. We are thankful for the support
Maslaha and Criminal Justice Alliance who have also contributed to the work.
