2022-02-25 Klondike Derby Sign-up and Permission Form
The Klondike Derby is a scout competition and cold weather camping* trip where District Scout Troops compete against each other in crazy fun activity stations. It's an event NOT to be missed! If the weather drops below 32 degrees overnight you earn the coveted Polar Bear Patch.

When: 5:00 pm Friday, February 25 to noon Sunday, February 27

Location: Little Bennett Regional Park, 23701 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, Maryland.

Cost: $39 per camper

Stations: Traditional Scouting skills will be tested such as orienteering, fire-building, knots &
lashings, rope-tossing, nature identification, first aid, Leave No Trace and a number of problem
solving or initiative games. A Patrol has to follow instructions carefully in order to complete each
event.

Reasons to Attend:
-  2 Camping nights count toward Tenderfoot, Second Class, or Camping Merit Badge
requirements
-  Lots of opportunities to get rank requirements from Scout through First Class
-  Cooking merit badge or rank advancement opportunities
-  Close to home camping trip, back home in early afternoon Sunday
-  SLED RACING!!!
-  Campfires, late night desserts, awesome activities, ridiculous skits, what’s not to like?!?

The maximum number of participants will be 25 people including scouts and adults.
