VoCA Talk: Tory Fair
Date: Tuesday, June 18, 2019
Time: 6-8 pm
Location: Boston Center for the Arts
BCA Plaza Theaters, Black Box Theatre
539 Tremont St
Boston, MA 02116

For this program, curator Jen Mergel will speak with artist Tory Fair about how Fair’s research and interviews with artists presented in the 1996 exhibition "More Than Minimal: Feminism and Abstraction in the ‘70s" at the Rose Art Museum inspired her latest work—and her embrace of the archive as a generative force. They will trace the ways dialogue with her forebears' sculptures led Fair to mine new meaning in her own three-decade career and see her multi-layered sculptures, drawings, and photographs as part of this creative lineage and movement of "the More."
