For Internationals:
ESN Utrecht organises several activities throughout the year ranging from sportive activities to career-related activities. Check our website (esn-utrecht.nl) or Facebook for all upcoming activities!

For Dutch people:
To help incoming international students make a smooth transition to their new exciting life chapter in the Netherlands, we link them one-on-one to a Utrecht-based mentor. This way they can learn about Dutch culture and the amazing student life in this wonderful city directly from a local.

As a pre-departure mentor, you are matched to a maximum of four incoming students. You can give them tips on how to arrange a public transport card, where to buy a bike or share a list of must-try Dutch snacks! Moving to a new city can come with a lot of uncertainty, but you as a mentor are there to answer international students’ questions to make sure they are all set for a great experience.

Once they arrive in Utrecht, you can, of course, meet up and show them around! This semester, it may be the case that your matched incoming student will self-quarantine for the first 14 days after their arrival. You can support them through this period by connecting digitally and offering assistance with practical tasks such as grocery shopping.
