Renew PA Works sign up form
Renew PA Works is a statewide, volunteer initiative to engage and train Solar Ambassadors in an advocacy training and implementation effort to build support to increase the renewable energy goals in the Pennsylvania. Renew PA Works was created by the Pennsylvania Solar Center.
The Pennsylvania Solar Center will be recruiting and training 30+ Solar Ambassadors from across Pennsylvania to advocate for clean energy policy through the end of June 202. Ideally, we will identify at least one person who lives in each of the state's 67 counties to learn how to be effective advocates and then carry out a series of activities in their counties - including talking to legislators, writing letters to editors, using social media, talking on the radio, etc. (all virtually) to educate decision makers that now is the time to increase our renewable energy goals from the current 8% (with 0.5% solar) to at least 18% by 2025. Our state needs economic stimulus as a response to this COVID-19 crisis, and renewables can create tens of thousands of jobs and attract millions of dollars of private investment that can support family farms and contribute to state and local revenues.
We know that college students (including those in community college and technical schools) are interested in jobs that create a sustainable future and right now many of you are sitting at home with time and energy on your hands. Interested students should fill out this survey and we will get back to you with more information including our virtual training date in late May. We're just asking for 5 hours of your time each week.
We feel the young people have articulate, inspiring and influential voices that legislators want to hear. Thank you for your interest!
