The Houston Food Bank is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities. Food usually comes from various sources in the food industry, like grocery stores and wholesalers, that have thousands of pounds of food to give away – food that could otherwise be thrown away.
As volunteers, most of the tasks in the warehouse consist of checking, sorting, and repackaging food to be distributed into the community.
Volunteers who need carpool will meet at the front of Student Center South at 7:30am, and depart at 7:40am. We will volunteer from 8am until 12pm. Please indicate on the sign up form if you can provide carpool - we always need volunteer drivers! You'll receive a reminder email prior to the event containing more information, and if you have any questions, please contact Melyssa Navarro at
