C-Hive Volunteer and Info Session Sign-up
Hej! Vad kul att du är här! Good to see you here!

Kindly fill this form if you are interested to know more about (and probably work with :D) C-Hive. It's a short form with some important information below.

Don't know what C-Hive is?
In short, C-Hive is a one-of-a-kind sustainable house project made with a combination of 3-D printing techniques, engineered timber, and greenwood. C-Hive is designed with energy efficiency and the use of solar energy in mind. C-Hive is built by Team Sweden as Chalmers' (and also Sweden's) representative in Solar Decathlon Europe (SDE) 2021/2022 competition which will take place in Wuppertal, Germany in June 2022. It is currently being constructed in Betonghallen inside the TRACKS Learning Environment space in Chalmers Samhällsbyggnad, and it will be disassembled, transported to Wuppertal, and reassembled for the SDE21/22 competition.

Upcoming information sessions
You are welcome to visit C-Hive inside Betonghallen in the TRACKS space at any time! During this week (week 20), most of the time there will be someone inside since we are disassembling and will be sending the parts starting this Thursday :)
We will explain about C-Hive (the house), Team Sweden (the team behind the house), and Solar Decathlon Europe (the competition), and you are welcome to ask questions if you are curious or interested to participate in the project! You will get to know what's the difference between the three volunteer teams, the schedule, and what you can expect. Just knock the glass door to get in, or maybe send an email to teamsweden2021@gmail.com with the message "Open the door pls" :D

The Volunteer Teams
There are 3 volunteer teams to prepare for the different phases of the competition. Please read the description for each team carefully. Since our preparations for the competition takes place both at Chalmers and Wuppertal with some overlapping dates, we need help with both! You are welcome to join more than one team, since each team is unique and offers different experiences.

This section is to indicate your interests, and you will be able to pick the dates and times you are available for during both the TRACKS Open House and C-Hive Information Session. There will be an Excel sheet that you will be able to fill in. You don't have to be available in all of the dates, but we need as much help as we can get.

If you are still unsure and want to come visit C-Hive at Betonghallen and/or attend the information session(s) before deciding, feel free to do so. But kindly continue filling the form so we can prepare to welcome you on Wednesday and Friday!

1. Construction, Disassembly, and Packing team (in Chalmers, 02 May - 23 May 2022)
The CDP team will be working on the remaining part of the house's construction up until it's time to disassemble. We will start disassembling the house methodically on 9 May and pack it properly for shipping to Wuppertal on 19 May. The shipping will be done 2 times: 19 May and 22 May. We need as many people as possible since there are many tasks that need to be done at the same time!
2. Reassembly team (in Wuppertal, 18 May - 02 June 2022)
The Reassembly team will head to Wuppertal and work on the base before the house parts come, then start reassembling the house once the parts arrive from Sweden! How exciting! We also need many people here since we only have two weeks to reassemble and finish the house.
3. Competition host team (in Wuppertal, 03 June - 26 June 2022)
The scoring period is spread over several days during the competition period. During this period, the house will be open for public tours where we can explain all the features of our beloved C-Hive. There will also be Cultural Days and Dinner Parties to be hosted and attended! This team is perfect for you who likes to interact with people.
Note: Since the competition period is well after the building period is over, all other team members are also welcome to come during the competition period! And maybe enjoy summer in Germany ;)
