Youth Mariners Initiative At CWB – PROVIDING ACCESS WITHOUT BARRIERS *
CWB’s generous supporters make it possible to offer scholarships for all of our youth programs.  This means CWB can provide hands-on maritime experiences to youth whose families would not otherwise be able to afford our programs. Scholarships are available to underserved youth, families facing financial barriers, youth service organizations, and schools.  CWB defines “underserved youth” as elementary through high school kids who have been historically underrepresented in the sailing community, i.e. ethnic and racial minorities, LGBTQ+, mobility challenged, low income, homeless, in foster care,  and/or youth who are off-track educationally.  For discount requests over 50% of the program fee, we require proof of eligibility as defined above. (Ex: Proof of financial hardship include enrollment in the Washington School Lunch Program, Department of Health and Social Services, Basic Food, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or public housing, etc.)
