FAMILY MUSIC & MOVEMENT POLICY ON MAKEUP CLASSES AND PAYMENT: FAMILY MUSIC & MOVEMENT POLICY ON MAKEUP CLASSES AND PAYMENT:
Payment is due by the first class of the session. Space is limited, so if you need to cancel, please do so immediately so the spot can be offered to another family. Due to space limits, materials fees, and waiting lists, no make-up classes or refunds can be offered once a session begins. Payment is for the full session, please try to come to as much of it as you can. Cancellations or no-shows to the monthly session without 24 hours notice will incur a $10 late cancellation fee.
Cancellations once a session has begun still owe the full amount.
Family Music & Movement has a no make up/refund policy. The “why” behind that:
1) classes fill up and I can't always accommodate extra people and/or
2) I calculate pricing based on a full class- I cannot keep my pricing low if participants are only paying
for part of a session, in those cases I'd likely cancel that session.
I am a small business and I put a cap on class size for a good experience-- this means everyone must pay in full whether they miss a class or not. (i.e.Whether or not you attend I still pay rent to the facilities for every class. For example-- once I had a class with 6 people out sick/vacation-- if they didn't all pay a full session fee, I would have been paying to teach that class.)
I am able to offer makeups when I am running sessions on separate days and the classes aren't full or someone is absent. If this happens, I can most likely offer you a makeup class on a different day from yours with enough notice, but I cannot guarantee it.
ALL MAKEUPS must be done within the month of the session you paid for (if you are in an October session, all makeups must be done by Oct 31).
I do try to keep my prices as low as possible because I know it's common for moms/dads/grown-ups to miss a class whether through sickness or an appt/event, which I know can be tough with little ones. And we know babies are unpredictable and you cannot always make it to class. Please understand that because this is my business I must employ a strict payment policy, or I’d be running sessions I’d normally cancel. Because I have about 70 families per month, trying to offer makeups into a new month when there are another 70 new families is near impossible which is why I limit it to within the session (October classes must be made up within October). Your payment reserves a spot in the class time & month you sign up for, class sizes are limited, so you are paying for a specific spot-– makeups in other classes are not guaranteed. i.e. Your spot in a Tuesday 10:30am spot is for those specific classes during that month.
(Think about kids sports/dance classes or gym membership-- you are still paying the monthly fee whether you come or not.)
Because we are a small local business, and we keep class size low for a good experience, we can only offer a makeup class if someone is absent from another class.
We are a small, local business–thank you for your support so we can keep offering great classes!
Thank you & see you at class!
