The Defense STEM Education Consortium funded by the U.S. Department of Defense is supporting a daytime Biology 132 section this summer at San Diego Miramar College. The course provides students with entry-level skills common to the biotechnology industry, such as aseptic techniques, laboratory safety, and biological media and solution preparation.

By applying and being accepted into the special scholarship summer session, students will:
- Receive FREE tuition, books and supplies (a value of up to $550)
- Accelerate their studies
- Prepare for in-demand careers in the Life Sciences

- Acceptance into the program will be based on grant expectations.
