Here is a little bit about each committee:

Advocacy & Wellness Committee – Develop and organize meetings, activities, and programs to further develop the goals and purposes of the PTA (Advocacy). Plan, organize, and execute wellness related events (i.e. walk to school, bike to school, etc.) throughout the school year (Wellness).

Audit Committee – Audit the PTA’s financials monthly and at the end of the year.

Beautification Committee -Work to enhance the outdoor and indoor environments at Pearsontown to improve the experiential and learning qualities for students, teachers, staff, parents, and community.  We host two events a year, the Fall and Spring campus clean-ups, which include environmental stewardship, gardening, and other campus improvements.   But, we also have other committee-based improvement projects throughout the year where we welcome additional help and expertise.

Membership & Nominating Committee – Maintain membership database, look for talented individuals to serve as board members for the next school year, prepare slate of candidates for the final general body meeting of the current school year.

Other Volunteer List– If you aren’t ready to commit to a committee but want to occasionally help out, this is the place for you!  We will email you on an as needed basis for specific events.

Parents of African American Children (PAAC) Committee – The Pearsontown PAAC mission is to inspire students to achieve academic excellence while creating more culturally inclusive opportunities in their school.  Pearsontown PAAC will build community among all African American Pearsontown students and their families without judgement. The core values of Pearsontown PAAC are equitable education; Initiatives and partnerships that eliminate the opportunity gap; Empowerment of parents of African American children; and student directed ownership of success.

Staff Appreciation Committee – Assist with the planning and execution of staff appreciation events for staff (lunches, staff birthdays, staff appreciation week events, other staff appreciation events).

Yearbook Committee – Our mission is to produce an original publication that reflects Pearsontown’s staff and student body highlighting activities of the school year.
