The Khyber Centre for the Arts is an artist-run centre located at 1880 Hollis St., Halifax NS, which is on K’jipuktuk, unceded and unsurrendered Mi’kmaq territory. Our centre has been operating since 1995, presenting many events, programs, exhibitions and residencies throughout the year by local, national and international artists. So often visiting artists are seeking short term living accommodations while they oversee their projects, which could be for a few nights, one to two weeks, or for one month.

Do you have a spare room, available apartment or home an artist can stay at when visiting to present work at the Khyber?

If so, we would like to invite you to join our database of those who have space available and are willing to rent, sublet or host artists. This database is not publicly referable and your privacy will be proritized. It will be used as a matchmaking device by Khyber staff, shared only with confirmed visiting artists seeking a place to stay. Through this process we aim to prioritize artist's comfort, community and accessibility needs, let them explore options for places to stay, while also prioritizing the requirements of those who have generously offered their spaces.
