Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good? July 19-August 4, 2024. Public shows Thursday, Friday, Saturday(7:30) and Sunday (2:30 matinees). Rehearsals will be evenings M-F. A calendar will be available at auditions.
Please note that for the safety of all, minors must be accompanied by ONE parent or guardian, who will sign the audition form. Do not bring observers or family groups unless all are auditioning. Please fill out this form for each person auditioning.
You may pre-fill out your "Musical- Mainstage or Treehouse" audition form found on our website, (you have to print it out and bring it, it does NOT save online) or fill it out when you arrive. We will audition on the second floor in the Rehearsal Hall.
Prepare 24-32 bars (one verse and a chorus) of a song in contemporary musical theatre style. Bring sheet music marked for accompaniment. If you use a track, you may plug into our speaker, or bring your own (use karaoke or accompaniment tracks only). Choose a song that enhances and shows off your singing skills. You will also be asked to take part in dance auditions, where the choreographer will ask you to learn a few steps, so wear dance shoes or sneakers. Please no a capella auditions.
We are casting performers 13 years old to adult. The Descendants are high school age. Parents are adults, but could be played by teens. Ensemble may contain some younger kids, but various characters of all ages needed for other students, palace staff, crowds, etc. Color, age, ability and gender inclusive casting. Characters are fantastical, dramatic, larger-than-life. See cast descriptions below. You can find more detailed descriptions and helpful audition hints on our website.
