Tamil Community Centre - Application to be a Committee Member

After hitting major milestones last year ($26.3M in government funding, land worth $25M from the City of Toronto, release of the pre-design of the building, becoming a registered charity), we are now looking for dedicated and experienced volunteers to join Committees to see the project through completion. Communications - We want to keep everyone up to date on the project as often as possible. We are looking for writers for our email blasts and news releases, social media content creators, graphic designers, and people who can translate English materials to Tamil.

Fundraising - We have to raise $9.6M from the community. We received $11.2M in pledges when we applied for government funding. Now it’s time to turn those pledges from the community, business, and individual donors into real dollars.

Governance - A much anticipated topic, we need to put together a consultation plan for the community to engage in on what governance structure for the community could look like. The consultation needs to take place this summer.

Project - Members of the committee would have experience in construction and budgeting of capital projects to take the TCC through the municipal process into construction and completion.

User - We’re going to refine our programming and services for the community centre by meeting with different community organizations who serve groups like seniors, youth, LGBTQ2S individuals, and women. We will also need support in engaging in a formal consultation process with the City of Toronto.
