IHME Helsinki on nykytaideorganisaatio, joka yhdistää toiminnassaan taiteen, tieteen ja ilmastotyön. IHMEen ytimenä on vuosittainen uusi taideteos, joka toteutetaan julkisessa tilassa. Teosta täydentävät vuoden aikana järjestettävät tilaisuudet. Olemme tuotannoissamme sitoutuneet toimimaan ekologisesti kestävien periaatteiden mukaisesti. Tapahtumissamme noudatamme turvallisen tilan periaatteita. Emme suvaitse minkäänlaista syrjintää ihonvärin, sukupuolen tai muun henkilökohtaisen ominaisuuden perusteella.
Geomancers-näytös esitteli yhdeksän videoteosta, joita yhdistää huoli kiihtyvästä ympäristökriisistä, kuudennesta sukupuuttoaallosta, alkuperäisyhteisöjen syrjäytymisestä ja heidän perinnetietonsa katoamisesta. Näytöksen olivat kuratoineet Singaporessa sijaitsevan Nanyangin teknologisen yliopiston yhteyteen kuuluvan nykytaiteen keskuksen kuraattorit Anna Lovecchio ja Magdalena Magiera. Videoteokset olivat alun perin osa NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singaporen Free Jazz IV. Geomancers -multimedianäyttelyn ohjelmaa tammikuussa 2022.
Elokuvanäytöksellä juhlistettiin samalla IHME Helsingin 15-vuotista taivalta, ja se oli osa Frame Contemporary Art Finlandin Rehearsing Hospitalities -tapahtumaviikon oheisohjelmaa.

IHME Helsinki is a contemporary-art commissioning agency that supports art, science and climate work in its activities. IHME’s core activity is the annual staging of a new artwork in public space. Geomancers featured
nine video works that share a concern about the accelerating environmental
crisis, the sixth wave of extinction, the marginalization of indigenous
communities, and the loss of traditional knowledge. The film programme has been
curated by Anna Lovecchio and Magdalena Magiera, curators at NTU
Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore, a research centre of Nanyang
Technological University. The video works were originally selected as part of
the multimedia exhibition Free Jazz IV. Geomancers (NTU CCA Singapore,
14–23 January 2022).
The screening celebrated IHME Helsinki's 15th anniversary, and was also one
of the satellite events in Frame Contemporary Art Finland’s Rehearsing
Hospitalities programme.
