Many companies value research skills such as being able to scope and de-risk a project, being able solve complex problems, self-directing your own work, and communicating difficult ideas clearly and convincingly. 

In this course, you have the chance to explore topics like Human-Computer Interaction, Natural Language Processing, Visualization, Social Computing, or Learning Sciences while honing your research skills!

 I strongly recommend students take 4282 if possible. 

If you have completed 3207 then you are eligible for 4282 (which does counts as an upper level CS elective and counts towards CS major requirements). If you have completed 2168, then you are eligible for CIS 2082 (which does not count towards their CS major requirements).
