The State Library of Oregon is looking for new members to serve on the Answerland Advisory Committee.
The Answerland Advisory Committee (AAC) advises the LSTA Advisory Council and State Library on the development, implementation, promotion and evaluation of Answerland, Oregon's statewide virtual reference service. The ultimate vision is to provide a high-quality online reference service that succeeds in serving the needs of all residents of Oregon.
The State Library seeks representatives with experience and/or interest in virtual reference and collaborative library services, as well as a desire to grow and develop the Answerland program. Initial terms begin July 1, and run for two years. The committee aims to meet two times a year, and members will have to option to participate virtually.
Efforts will be made to keep a balance of representation from both type of library and geographic region. Based on current membership, special consideration will be given to nominees from community college and tribal libraries as well as those libraries from the eastern side of the state.
The deadline for nominations is Friday April 8th, 5:00 pm. Self-nominations are encouraged. If you know someone who may be interested, please pass along this message.
Once confirmed, the slate of nominees will be presented by the State Library staff to the LSTA Council for approval. Appointees will be notified by the State Library as soon as possible once approved.
