We, the residents of Fochville, have had to endure watching our Civic Centre decay – to the point where it is no longer fully functional and is no longer safe. The staff at the Civic Centre don’t have access to telephones, and they cannot readily resolve our municipal queries as a result or provide all the services we need. The building is also no longer secure, is not being properly maintained and a mole infestation has broken out. We, the residents, demand the Merafong Local Municipality, give this immediate attention and save our Civic Centre.

We demand immediate action from the municipality to do the following at the Fochville Civic Centre:

- upgrade security measures;

- provide the necessary telecommunications infrastructure to employees;

- appoint a receptionist;

- exterminate the moles;

-  invest in comprehensive maintenance to restore the facility to its rightful status as a well-maintained and secure community facility.
