We're excited you're here!
The Trent Queer Collective [TQC] Hub is the steering committee of the TQC and is made up of dedicated volunteers. The Hub works closely with our staff and volunteers to provide direction, accountability and support. Members of the Hub must be committed to our mission, anti-oppression, and direction of the TQC.

The TQC uses consensus-based decision making. At each meeting, the staff and Hub members reach decisions through consensus with the aim of engaging in a thoughtful and critical process that ensures the greatest amount of participation and collaboration.

Some responsibilities of Hub members defined in our mandate include:
- a duty of care of queer individuals, based on collective care and community growth
- representing the interests of the organization professionally and personally
- approval and distribution of funds to appropriate channels
- oversight of the TQC staff, members and ideas
- brainstorming initiatives and voicing the concerns of the community
- conflict mediation, dissolution and ensuring consensus and equality within the membership
- anti-oppressive approach to coordination
- ensuring no hierarchy exists between the institution and its members (including those of the Hub)
- about 6-8 hrs of commitment per month

What are some things you can expect from us?
- compassion and community care within the structures of the organization
- encouragement & growth with positive, critical thinkers
- an intersectional hub and staff collective from varied walks of life
- experiencing advocacy work as well as garnering community-focused support, alongside policy work
