Thank you for your interest in participating in Sequoia Drama's 2024 spring play! Please answer the questions below before attending your Audition. There is a link to schedule your audition at the end of this form. Audition slots are available after school Tue Jan 16 and Wed Jan 17 in Carrington Hall.  You are not expected to prepare anything for your audition; it will be a cold read audition, meaning that when you arrive, you will be given materials to perform. IMPORTANT! Please read the following:
 
CALLBACKS will take place Thur Jan 18, after school in M1 from 4-6:15pm. 

REHEARSALS begin Mon Jan 22 and continue Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 4-5:30pm until Tech Week (no rehearsals during holidays/school breaks). Not everyone will be called to every after-school rehearsal. There WILL be a few required volunteer days on some select Friday afternoons and/or Saturdays - dates TBD - where will volunteer at local community gardens. *rehearsal schedule subject to change upon casting & full calendar will be provided with the cast list. 

TECH WEEK will be March 18-21, 5pm-9:30pm. 

PERFORMANCES are March 22-24, Fri @ 7pm, Sat @ 2pm & 7pm, Sun @2pm. Call time will be 2 hours prior to the start of the show. All cast members are expected to attend the strike following the last show. *You cannot participate in the show if you have conflicts during tech week/shows (exceptions may be made if communication occurs prior to auditions).

CONFLICT POLICY: Actors may submit up to 4 conflicts on their audition form. Religious holidays do not count towards your 4 conflicts as they are understood and allowed (but please still put them on your conflict calendar so we can plan for you being absent). *During the course of the production, if you need to miss a rehearsal due to getting sick, experiencing a family emergency, a religious holiday not previously accounted for on your conflict calendar, or experiencing a mental health challenge, you must have a parent or guardian email, text, or call the director prior to the start of rehearsal to have the absence excused. If you are unable to have a parent or guardian communicate with the director prior to rehearsal, please reach out directly to the director and the director can verify at a later time. *Showing up more than 20 minutes late to a rehearsal will count as an unexcused absence. *Showing up late to 3 rehearsals (5-20 minutes late), will count as one unexcused absence. *During the course of the production, if you acquire more than 3 unexcused absences (i.e. not showing up/skipping), there will be a meeting with the director and you may be dismissed from the show depending on the circumstances. *During the course of the production, if you acquire more than 15 absences TOTAL, including any excused absences and pre-determined conflicts (keep in mind that 15 absences is a total of three weeks of rehearsal), there will be a meeting with the director and you may be dismissed from the show depending on the circumstances.

After the auditions are finished, there will be a callback list posted publicly online. Not everyone will be offered a callback. It IS still possible to be cast in the show without getting a callback. After callbacks are finished, there will be a cast list posted publicly online. I trust that casting decisions are not personal, and I understand that decisions are made based purely on how we interpret actors' skill sets aligning with the needs of this show. I understand that it is my responsibility to respond to the cast list with maturity and compassion. Audition Process: You are NOT expected to prepare audition materials as this is a cold read audition. When you arrive at your audition, you will check-in outside of M1 and select a short monologue from the play to read for your audition. There will be 4-5 options. You can arrive early to read through your options and pick the one that most resonates with you. You are NOT expected to have it memorized.  *
There is an Audition Workshop & Informational Meeting during Drama Club in B2 on Friday, January 12th at lunch. It is not mandatory but highly recommended (particularly for first-time auditioners!). Can you attend? *
