4-H Alberta Chaperone & Volunteer Opportunities
4-H Alberta has many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year for our fantastic 4-H Leaders & Volunteers!  

Volunteering for one of these fantastic opportunities is a great way to mentor 4-H Members, reconnect with your 4-H roots and have fun!

Complete this application to apply for one or more of these opportunities.

Form responses will be collected regularly and 4-H Alberta staff will be in contact with you as the opportunities you sign up for approach.

All volunteers will be required to complete 4-H Alberta's volunteer screening process. All overnight volunteers will also be required to complete the Commit to Kids Training and Youth Safety Training if they haven't already.

🍀Club Week Ad-Hoc Planning Committee - First meeting:  January 29th, 2023 over Zoom
Club Week is ‘THE summer program’ for Senior Members. Engaging group discussions, guest speakers, activities, games and entertainment will ensure you have the time of your life! 4-H Alberta is looking for passionate volunteers to be a part of the first ever Club Week Ad-Hoc planning committee. Whether you attended Club Week as a delegate yourself, have helped to facilitate the program, or are hearing about club week for the first time, if you are committed to helping create fantastic programs for 4-H youth, we want YOU! In collaboration with 4-H Alberta staff, this committee will take on the planning and coordination of Club Week 2023. 🍀Spring Senior Symposium - May 4th - 7th, 2023 @ Olds College
The Spring Senior Symposium is a program for current 4-H Alberta Senior Members province wide that offers engaging and hands-on programming with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. The Spring Senior Symposium will also host the selection of trips for those who apply.

Outlined below are the roles and responsibilities of the Symposium facilitators: 
Preparation:
🍀 All facilitators will be required to complete 4-H Alberta's volunteer screening process, Commit to Kids Training and Youth Safety Training if they haven't already.
🍀 Facilitators will be provided with a detailed schedule and role outline prior to the program to review and will arrive before the delegates to help with set up. 

Facilitating at the Program:
🍀Alongside 4-H Alberta staff, facilitators will be responsible for the safety and supervision of delegates over the course of the program.
🍀Assist with Check-in, helping delegates to their rooms, and general attendance.
🍀Lead a small group, including attendance, engagement and other support as needed.
🍀Represent 4-H Alberta and help ensure everyone at the program is following the 4-H Alberta Code of Conduct: https://www.4hab.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/youth-safety_4-h-canada-2021.pdf
🍀Help with clean-up, delegate move-out and departure.
🍀Additional support for the program alongside 4-H staff as needed.

Post-Program:
🍀 Provide feedback on your experience at the program including a small write up that may be used for promotional material.
