Note: If you play a woodwind or brass instrument, consider purchasing an inexpensive D tin whistle for learning the melodies.
If you play a "backer" instrument such as guitar, keep in mind that I'll briefly touch on chord basics, but this class will focus on teaching melodies. 
 
Tunes will be taught in the original fiddle-based keys, so viola/cello players should feel comfortable shifting or transposing octaves.
