All 6th Grade students at McAuliffe International School will take English Language Arts, math, science, social studies, physical education, engineering, art and a World Language.

Please select your student's first and second choice for their art elective and their first choice for their World Language elective. World Language instructions: All incoming 6th grade students will be placed in the 1A level of the World Language that they choose. Students will be promoted to 1B if they pass the Denver Public Schools end of 5th grade World Language assessment. Students who speak a language fluently may sign-up for the appropriate 2B course.

This form can only be submitted once and students cannot request a change from their original selections, so choose carefully!

Visual Arts 6 - Explore expressions of self and symbolism in art by creating 2D and 3D art pieces inspired by different cultures and eras of artwork (no experience necessary).

Theater 6 - Develop acting skills, take part in a mainstage production and explore the world of theater.

Journalism 6 - Investigate, gather evidence, and write articles for the student newspaper. Learn basic photography skills to take pictures for the yearbook and student newspaper

Beginner Band - No prior experience is required. Instruments that students can play in this class include flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, french horn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, and percussion. Percussion students are expected to learn multiple percussion instruments. Renting an instrument is highly recommended.

Intermediate Band - This class is for any student who has played their instrument in a concert band setting for 1-2 years.

Advanced Band - This is an auditioned class for our top students who have been playing their instrument for 2+ years. Please contact Mr. Dwyer for an audition.

Beginner Orchestra - No prior experience is required. Instruments that students can play in this class include violin, viola, cello, and bass. Renting an instrument is highly recommended.

Intermediate Orchestra - This class is for any student who has played their instrument in an orchestra setting for 1-2 years.

Advanced Orchestra - This is an auditioned class for our top students who have been playing their instrument for 2+ years. Please contact Mr. Dwyer for an audition.
