PCI Registered Reports: Editor's Questionnaire
This questionnaire is designed for journal editors or publishers who are considering supporting Peer Community in Registered Reports (PCI RR). The form provides key information about the initiative and the core features / options for journals to consider.

** The questionnaire includes 40 questions and can be expected to take about 30 minutes to complete **

Note: Your journal does NOT need to already offer Registered Reports to join PCI RR, and if your journal already does offer RRs then you can support PCI RR in parallel (offering both internal RR and external PCI RR tracks).

Based on your answers we will advise whether your journal policy is compatible with PCI RR, and if so whether the journal is suited to joining in the "PCI RR-friendly" or "PCI RR-interested" category. Your answers do not commit your journal to any action and will remain confidential (viewed by the PCI RR Managing Board only).

Some of the questions ask about your journal's current policies. Before getting started we recommend that you have the following information to hand about your journal:

• Preprint archiving policy
• Data sharing policy
• Existing policy or author guidelines for Registered Reports (if already offered at your journal)
• Policy concerning the openness and anonymity of peer review
• Policy concerning article processing charges for open access publishing (as applicable)
• Policy concerning colour figure charges, page charges, submission fees, or any other fees/charges (as applicable)

Does your journal already offer RRs as an internal article type? *
If your journal already offers RRs as an internal article type, does it offer authors the option to publish their Stage 1 manuscript in the journal as a Protocol article or similar (following in-principle acceptance), separately from later publication of the Stage 2 manuscript with results? *
Does your journal accept regular empirical articles when the authors have already published their manuscript on a preprint server prior to submission? If you are not sure, you can check the preprint-friendly status of your journal at https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/ *
