South End Stories Orca ELA Parent/Guardian Consent Form
This ELA class, supported by South End Stories, will focus on Literature, Reading, Grammar and Writing. There will be 2 live sessions through the week, 30-45 minutes each. Tuesdays at 2 with Donte Felder, SES director and educator will focus on fun discussions and projects based on the current reading and Thursday at 2 will focus on writing with Hugo House teaching artists.
The Book Study will be Look Both Ways by Jason Reynolds. Books and materials will be provided by SES. This class is limited to 15 students total. For 7th and 8th graders.
All students, whether enrolled in class or not will have access to Hugo House sessions and Google Classroom Lessons.
*Please note, this class is not replacing Ms. Mann's, it is supplementary, but our hope is that it will grow and strengthen strong literary skills in your child in preparation for the next school year. All assignments will be collected via Google Classroom and shared with both Ms.Mann and Tami Beach each week. We also hope to share work via the SES, Orca PTSA, and Orca website so our community can see the brilliance of our youth.
