Cohort for Asian American Women/GNB/Femmes
A cohort for Asian American folks ( Asian Canadians welcome as well) who want to learn about white supremacy, patriarchy, and anti-Blackness and grow in working for racial justice in ways that are authentic to who we are and our lived experience. We look at liberative Christian theologies, racial frameworks, and our experience as Asian Americans.

This cohort is a fully affirming space. We celebrate, honor, and love our queer kin. We are for the queering of theology, the queering of all things, and all around being as queer as your heart desires in whatever expression you desire. There are VERY few spaces where queer Asian Americans, who are followers of Jesus and care about justice can fully be themselves. So please do not apply to be a part of this cohort if you can not fully commit to co-creating this ethos.   If you are a part of the cohort will you help co-create this ethos?

Age
Why are you interested in this cohort?
Where do you live? Is there anything you think it would be helpful to share about where you were born or have lived?
How would you describe your relationship with your own ethnic identity? ( I know that this can be a rabbit hole of a question, please limit your answer to one to three paragraphs)
Share a little about your current context. Work, family, church.
Where do you work, what is your title?
Share a little bit about your journey with social justice and how it connects to your faith.
Describe your personal or professional relationship with Black people. ( Since addressing anti-Blackness as a major focus of the cohort, this is a helpful data point.)
What would be some desired outcomes for you if you participated in the cohort?
The cohort will be an engaged learning experience with about 2 hours of reading or reflection each week, in addition to a zoom gathering every week, and active participation in a closed facebook group where we will discuss some of the reading. The expectation is that you are eager to participate and grow and that you will proactively be engaging deeper awareness around your own ethnic identity, difficult topics like internalized white supremacy, and complex conversation around decolonizing theology. Can you commit not only the time, but do you have the desire to give mental and emotional energy to this work in this season? I know that all sounds very serious. I do believe in laughter and joy and celebration, but I also believe in not being annoyed by people flaking out.
The cohort costs $500, you can make 2 payments if that helps. Can you pay this? We believe in paying women of color for their labor, but we also understand that people have different access to resources. So if you can pay, please pay, it makes more scholarship money available for others. If you need a scholarship- please let us know how much scholarship you will need. We don't want money to stop anyone from participating.
